New to the collection is this early 70's Ted Williams.
It was a little worse for wear when I received it. It was graciously
donated to me to save it from a trip to the dump. The lower unit had
gear and seal problems.
To solve the problem I sourced another lower unit from
Ebay. It was from a late 60's clinton and didnt quite fit. It required
a bit of drilling, and the water tube needed to be shortened by about
an inch.
Now it looks and runs great.

Another recent addition is this Mercury Mark 20. It's
all complete with no evidence of repair. Excelent compression and spark
on one cylinder.
A little tuneup and some new paint and this will make
a great, and fast powerplant. It's a little big for my boat, but I may
be willing to trade for the right motor.

1939 Evinrude LightFour - The newest addition to the
collection (thanks Bill). This small 4 cylinder motor puts out 9.7hp,
and looks great. Once I give it a good tune up, it should run great
too. Best of all it's complete, and almost dent free.

1925 Johnson J-25. This so far is the oldest
and smallest motor in the collection, and is currently awaiting restoration
The J-25 delivers 1 1/2 horse from a single cylinder. |

This is what the poor guy looked
like when I got it. You can see it now on the main page.

Martin "40". The Martin outboards are among
my favorites. Only in production for 5 years, but there still seems
to be quite a few around. This is one of three Martin's in my collection

1932 Viking #186 off the production line. This motor
is an Evinrude, Model 441 also sold through Eaton's Canada. This was
the first motor Eaton's ever branded under the Viking Marquee, and my
first restoration. Not that it was too tough to do. The motor was in
excellent shape when I got it. All that was required was a good cleanup,
some new paint on the jugs, and a whole lot of polishing.

This 1936 Johnson 200
I received last year in a trade for an old opposed Neptune twin.
Pictrued here sharing
a stand with my 1939 Light Four. And there is nothing light about it.

1947 and 1950 Johnson HD-25's respectfully. These little
guys put out a whopping 2.5 hp. The 1950 still had some gas in it probably
from 1950 when I got it, and will require extensive cleaning. The 1947
runs just great after a good carb cleanup

Sold to a new owner for it's often missing
side cowls.
Hopefully There are some other vital
organs that can be donated to help put another old Champion back on
the water.

Champion 4.2hp HydroDrive.

1946 Viking sold through Eaton's Canada
and manufactured by Gale. I had to bring this one to the experts for identification. |

1927 Elto Super Light Twin. This motor
I acquired in late 2003. It has definitely seen better days. All that
is pictured here is the power head. Currently it's stuck. I've filled
the cylinder heads with penetrating oil and will let this guy sit until
spring. Hopefully by then I should be able to crack the piston loose.
These motors are some of the most covenanted by collectors, most likely
due to the whimsical looking rudder used to steer them.
Well I ended up doing more
damage than good trying to free up the stuck piston, so instead of trying
to make a runner out of this motor, I decided to shine it up and display
it. Maybe I will part it out to help others complete their restoration |
